BRITISH SUPERSPORT

Following his impressive World Supersport podium at Donington Park, Kyle Ryde was once again in superb form at the recent British Supersport event at Snetterton in Norfolk. A small crash in Free Practice didn’t prevent the youngster from scorching to Pole Position for the ‘sprint race’ where he converted the top spot into a 2nd place finish. the CF Motorsport rider losing out on the win by 0.096s at the flag. Nevertheless for Ryde it was his 6th consecutive podium finish.

Race 2 on Sunday saw Ryde starting once again from the front row, mixing it as he had 24 hours earlier with Luke Stapleford at the front. The pace at the front was intense when disaster struck and the two riders collided, Stapleford taking the pair out of contention, luckily without injury. The DNF was bitterly disappointing for Ryde and the whole Pacedayz.com team, who had once again worked hard from the opening session on Friday.

Ryde is now 3rd overall in the points classification, with a gap of 6 to make up to the leader.

Kyle Ryde – 2nd, DNF: "It was another good weekend until I was taken out on Sunday, but that’s racing. We showed once again that we have the pace to be at the front and we are still very close to the lead of the championship which is the main point. Thanks to the whole CF Motorsport team for their hard work, especially when Craig had to leave to go to the hospital with Bodhi."

NATIONAL SUPERSTOCK 600cc

Ben Currie finally became a winner in BSB after pushing championship leader Mason Law into a mistake that saw him crash out of contention. Starting 2nd on the grid it looked as though the latest round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600cc series would be another duel between the pair but with Law falling on lap 3, Currie was able to resist the pressure from Tarran Mackenzie to romp home 1.527s clear to take the win. An elated Currie has now closed the points gap to Law, who still leads the championship to 13 points.

Ben Currie – 1st: "What a weekend it was. I qualified second and came out with the victory. Halfway through the race when I had more than a second lead I started losing my head a little bit, making a few mistakes. Taz caught me up and made a real race of it in the last couple of laps. I regrouped and put in a great last two laps to bring home the win. Huge thanks to the team what a great job they have been doing. 13 points behind in the championship now too – game on!"

Ross Twyman on the second CF Motorsport entry qualified and finished 13th, involved in a 5 rider battle for 10th. Despite scoring more points, Tywman was downcast after the race feeling he could have ridden harder. The whole team on the other hand are pleased with the progress and the work ethic from Ross and will continue to support him to regain the confidence he needs to race at the front.

Ross Twyman – 13th: "Not a good weekend in general, qualified 13th then went backward in the race to finish 13th, sorry to everyone who helps me and a big thanks to Craig and the team, always spot on! Hopefully have a better next round."

Team Owner Craig Fitzpatrick was delighted with the team’s performance, especially as he had to leave the circuit unexpectedly after his young son was admitted to hospital.

Craig Fitzpatrick – Team Owner: "Another fantastic weekend from the boys and the entire team. The way they pulled together when I had to leave at short notice is incredible, I am thankful and proud of each and every one of them. From the racing point of view it was another weekend of podiums for the CF Motorsport team and positive in every way, apart of course for the crash on Sunday which could have been avoided. Kyle continues to impress, and we are only 6 points from the lead of the Supersport championship with him. I am delighted for Ben, he has been riding well all year and has fit right into the team, congratulations to him on his first win on the Pacedayz.com Yamaha. Ross continues to work well with the team and we are doing all we can to help him. I know that he has the speed and talent to mix it at the front and over the coming races we will work with him to improve his confidence. Thanks to all of our supporters, see you in Scotland."
